| Pride
on the Lake is a Gay
Day event organized by a nonprofit organization as a lead-up
to National Coming Out Day. Location: Canobie Lake Park is an old-time trolley family theme park in Salem, NH. Date: The event is usually held in late August. |

| Boston
Pride is a week-long
celebration of the advances and victories gay men and lesbians

Motorcycle-related events
Laconia
is a very large week-long motorcycle event. There are vendors and
rides and great riding roads to enjoy. Helpful tip: Visit during the week,
to avoid the crowds and lines. |

| Americade is the
largest touring motorcycle rally. There are vendors,
organized rides, demonstration rides on brand new bikes, fashion shows,
visits to local theme park, etc. Riders organizes a Gay & Lesbian lunch or dinner
during the week, so we can meet up with riders from all over the North East. Location: Lake George (on the lake, at the base of the 6 million acre Adirondack park), NY Date: The event is usually held during the first week of June. More Photos: Look in our 2002, 2003, and 2004 Galleries |

| Larz
Anderson Classic is an annual event organized
by the members of Yankee Beemers and the Museum

| Kelly's
Roast Beef is just that, a roast beef
sandwich (and seafood and dogs and fries, etc.) stand on the main drag. Beach folk,
bike posers, thugs, and kids from all around flock to the beach for a snack (and a
chance to see and be seen. Location: (middle of) Revere Beach, Revere, MA Date: Kelly's is open year-round (or nearly year-round), and we try to make a visit after a meeting. |

| Bike Night at Heritage Farms is a series of events held at Heritage State Park in Lowell, along the banks of the Merrimack River. There are drawings and shows Date: The events are held every week during the spring - autumn, 5-9pm. More Photos: Look in our 2004 Gallery |

| Marcus Dairy Super Sunday is no longer held at the Dairy Bar location, but is held at
the Western Connecitcut State University campus. There are vendors and tons of bikes from all over southern New England

| MotoMarket is a cafe that sells motorcycle gear (jackets, pants, gloves,
helmets, boots, books, movies, tankbags, etc. Or maybe it is a store that sells that stuff, that has a
cafe inside? Well anyway, it is an easy ride from metro-Boston and the staff is very friendly, and
there's always a bunch of folks to chat with. Location: Route 2A (west of Route 27) in Acton, MA Date: The shop is open year-round (except for right around Christmas and New Years). We might visit at almost any time. |

Location-based events

The Berkshires is a region of hilly land in western
Massachusetts. There are a number of locations to enjoy: In Williamstown: The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute holds the largest permanent collection of Renoir paintings in the U.S., along with works by Sargent, Revere, Homer, Van Gogh, Remmington, Cassatt, Monet, Gauguin. In North Adams: Mount Greylock is
Massachusett's tallest mountain, at 3,491 feet.
There is a roadway to the top, where a monument
to veterans (in the unfortunate shape of a chess
pawn) and viewing area is located. In Great Barrington: Monument Mountain reaches 1,753 feet at its peak, and was the location where Nathaniel Hawthorne and Herman Melville waited out a storm together, and where Melville decided to write "Moby Dick". This is a 2-hour hike up the mountain on well-tred paths. In Pittsfield: Berkshire Museum was started by Crane & Company (the company in Dalton, MA that makes the paper for all U.S. Currency), and is an art, natural science and history museum. In Lenox: The Museum of the Gilded Age at Ventfort Hall is an imposing Elizabethan-style mansion built in 1893 for the sister of J. P. Morgan. Designed by the architects Rotch & Tilden, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it was the setting for St. Clouds Orphanage in the movie The Cider House Rules. In Stockbridge: Naumkeag
, a 26-room mansion, designed by Stanford White, from the Berkshires' Gilded Age. In Tyringham: Santarella was Sir Henry Hudson Kitson's home and studio, with its unusual gingerbread house roof design. Kitson sculpted the Lexington (not Concord) "Minuteman" statue, and other national monuments. The home is an art gallery and sculpture garden. In Middlefield: Glendale Falls, where the Glendale Brook cascades more than 150 feet over rock ledges to join the Middle Branch of the Westfield River. |

| The Mohawk
Trail is a 63 mile section
of MA Route 2 between Greenfield and the NY state
border. The Mohawk Trail is the first scenic
road in New England. It officially opened on
October 22, 1914. The French King bridge is shown at right. Date: Autumn is the best time of the year to visit, due to the foliage. |

| Provincetown isis
geographically unique, literally surrounded by
water with the Atlantic on one side and Cape Cod
Bay on the other. Autumn is surprisingly mild here,
with Indian Summer afternoons often so warm that
even the less-than-hardy can venture a refreshing

Northampton (MA)
has museums and antique stores that offer
glimpses into Northampton's rich history and its
funky college atmosphere complete with fine arts,
theater, and first-class dining. Northampton is
nestled in the foothills of the Berkshires and
bordered by the banks of the Connecticut River.
Downtown Northampton
is home to the prestigious Smith College. In Northampton,
you'll find museums, theaters with performers of
New York City caliber, and diverse art offerings. |

Haunted Happenings is series of events. Although
Salem is most well known for its 1692 Witch Trials,
Salem is also home to the Peabody Essex Museum,

ME is famous for its three miles of platinum
white sand beaches, Ogunquit, "beautiful place
by the sea" has been one of Maine's premiere
resort villages and artists' colonies for generations.
Rich in history and natural beauty, a visit to
Ogunquit is like a step back in time. Village architecture
has been carefully preserved, housing a delightful
collection of boutiques, art galleries, museums
and restaurants. With everything an easy walk or
nostalgic trolley-ride away, you can say goodbye

| Brattleboro
(VT) Nestled between the West and Connecticut Rivers, Brattleboro
and the surrounding villages, provide visitors
with an extraordinary variety of indoor & outdoor
activities, arts & entertainment, and of course
shopping! Brattleboro is a unique town that is best savored
slowly. This region hosts some of the best small
inns and bed and breakfasts in the state, theaters, art galleries, music centers and

Montreal Quebec is renowned throughout the world for its wild and wonderful nightlife as well as for its spectacular unity events. cafés, bistros, and exotic eateries, beautifully restored brick homes, shaded backyard gardens and window boxes brimming with flowers. Every year in August, some 500,000
people from all over the world gather in the streets
of Montréal
to celebrate Divers/Cité, the massive
annual gay pride parade. In October, everyone
and a friend comes back for Black and Blue, a
gigantic week-long event that takes partying
to new dimensions. |

City Quebec
is the most European city in North America. With
its architecture, its pedestrian streets and its
fortifications, unique in North America, the Québec
region offers unequalled historical and cultural
heritage. A visit to the Plains of Abraham and
Old-Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage City,
will help you discover almost 400 years of history.
While its shows, theatres and festivals will put
you in a very celebratory mood! Date: Due to the distance from New England and weather conditions, Summer is the time to visit. |
